CARTER COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) – The name of a man who died in a crash Wednesday morning on the AA Highway in Carter County has been released.
Philip Richard Konopka, 42, of Grayson, Kentucky, is identified by Kentucky State Police as the victim.
The crash involved a tractor-trailer and two passenger trucks.
The roadway was closed for hours during the investigation.

CARTER COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) – The AA Highway is back open Wednesday afternoon after a deadly crash, according to Kentucky State Police.
Troopers said one person died in the crash between a tractor-trailer and two trucks Wednesday morning.
Troopers said the driver of a truck traveling southbound crossed the center line and hit the side of the tractor-trailer, spinning out of control before hitting another truck head-on.
The driver of that truck was killed.

CARTER COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ)- A deadly crash has closed the AA highway, according to Kentucky State Police.
Trooper said one person died in a crash between a tractor-trailer and two trucks on Wednesday morning.
Kentucky State Police said all lanes of the AA highway will be closed for several hours.
Troopers say the driver of a truck traveling southbound on the AA highway crossed the line and almost hit a tractor trailer head-on.
They say the tractor trailer driver attempted to avoid a crash. The driver of the truck then hit the side of the tractor trailer and began to spin out of control.
Troopers say the spinning truck then hit another truck head-on that was behind the tractor trailer.
The driver of that truck that was hit was pronounced dead.
Trooper Shane Goodall with Kentucky State Police said this crash is difficult to process.
“There is a family that is going to be crushed after they find out that a loved one has been lost in an accident,” Goodall said.
Troopers say two people from the truck that crossed the center line were flown to the hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the tractor trailer was uninjured.
KYTC encourages drivers to detour using KY 2 or KY 7.
Crews and emergency responders are at those intersections to help detour traffic.
Drivers are encouraged to find an alternate route.
