PENDER COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) – Authorities have identified a woman killed in a crash on U.S. 17 near Pandy Ann Lane and Pender EMS and Fire Station 18 on Saturday, Oct. 14.
22-year-old Cristy Rodriguez was killed when she collided head-on with another car when she was traveling in the wrong direction on the northbound lane, according to a N.C. State Highway Patrol representative.
A male driver was seriously injured in the crash, but his injuries were not life-threatening.
First responders were notified of the crash at around 6 a.m.
There is still an ongoing investigation into the crash.
