UPDATE: Car accident on Highway 2 results in two fatalities – NCWLIFE News

ORONDO — An early morning car accident on Highway 2/97 resulted in two fatalities.
Just before 6 a.m., a 1993 Ford Probe driven by Luis Martinez Molina, 33, of Wenatchee was travelling eastbound and caught the slippery roadway, according to Washington State Trooper Jeremy Weber.
The vehicle crossed the centerline while rotating counterclockwise into the westbound traffic and was struck on its passenger side by a 2007 Honda Accord driven by Peter Kobzar, 61, of East Wenatchee.
Both cars were single-occupants and both drivers were wearing seatbelts.
Highway 2/97 was closed in both directions and was re-opened at 9 a.m.

State troopers say a vehicle accident just after 6:30 a.m. this morning left at least one person dead on a stretch of Highway 2 five miles south of Orondo.
Trooper Jeremy Weber said the collision occurred near milepost 135 north of Turtle Rock. He said the crash and subsequent investigation left both lanes of Highway 97 closed until just after 9 a.m.
The Douglas County Coroner’s Office was summoned to the scene about half an hour after the accident. In a tweet, the Washington State Patrol characterized the incident as a double fatality.
