SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office alerted drivers that part of 271st St is closed to traffic for some hours on Monday morning as first responders assisted with an injury accident.
UPDATE Tuesday: Fatal accident reported near Harrisburg
UPDATE: 10 a.m.: According to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Facebook post, the intersection of 271st St. and 476th ave. is now clear and open to traffic.
PREVIOUSLY: Highway Patrol is currently investigating the two-car crash south of Sioux Falls. Authorities have not disclosed the severity of the injuries sustained in the accident; however, one person involved in the crash has been sent to the hospital. Traffic is still detoured on 271st St surrounding the intersection with 476th ave- between Sioux Falls and Harrisburg- as first responders assist on scene.
PREVIOUSLY: The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office’s post on Facebook says, “Traffic is shut down on 271st St between Cliff Ave & Sycamore Ave, as well as at the intersection of Southeastern Ave at this time. Several first responders are on scene of a two-vehicle injury accident at 271/Southeastern Ave. Please avoid the area and find an alternative route this morning.”
