BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) – Bowling Green Police are investigating a fatal crash on Louisville Road that happened Friday evening.
BGPD Public Information Officer, Ronnie Ward, said the accident happened near the IGA Store and Hardy & Sons Funeral Home.
According to Officer Ward, a white SUV was traveling northbound in the right lane when the driver passed a vehicle right side of the road.
When the driver re-entered the roadway, they collided with a vehicle that was driving North in the right lane. The driver of the SUV left the roadway on the left side, collided with a light pole, and became airborne.
The SUV crashed into a passenger car traveling South, killing the driver, Lucille Lucas (68) of Big Clifty, KY, on impact. The passenger in that car sustained minor injuries.
The driver of the SUV was flown to the trauma center in Nashville. Their current status is unknown at this time.
The passenger in the SUV sustained minor injuries and the infant in the car was not injured.
The driver of the car traveling North was not injured.
