Two men were injured, one moderately, in a two-vehicle accident Wednesday evening. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred on New Sugar Creek Road at Patrick Drive. 35-year-old Steven Kykendall of Bowling Green was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Impala when it was struck head-on by a 2015 Hyundai Accent being driven by 81-year-old John Sowders of Berkeley. Sowders had suffered a medical emergency and lost consciousness. This caused his vehicle to travel across the roadway and collide with Kykendall’s car. Kykendall received moderate injuries while Sowders received minor injuries. Both cars were totaled. Both men were taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital South.
