WHIDBEY ISLAND, Wash. – Three people were injured after a suspected DUI head-on collision on Whidbey Island Sunday, May 14.
WSP says a driver was headed south on Highway 20 south of Oak Harbor when their vehicle crossed the center line around 7 pm.
They struck a northbound car head-on, then struck a third vehicle.
The two passenger who were struck head-on were injured, treated at the scene and released.
Two passengers in the third car were not injured.
The driver of the first vehicle, 48-year-old Chad Gravitt of Oak Harbor, was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center for treatment.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation, but troopers say drugs or alcohol were involved.
