TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) — A 15-year-old girl died in a car accident on Tuesday night, says the Tulsa Police Department.
The accident occurred at East 121st Street South and South Yale Avenue.
The identity of the victim has not been released by police at this time.
Bixby Public Schools shared a statement with BPS families and staff regarding the matter.
The teenager was confirmed by BPS to have been a Bixby High School sophomore student.
According to the statement, she and several other BHS students were involved in the accident and transported to an area hospital. BPS's superintendent said the 15-year-old died in the hospital overnight and the medical condition of the other students is unknown.
BPS is offering resources for staff during this time of grieving.
TPD said the cause of the crash is not known at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
A GoFundMe for the teenager's family has been set up. Her soccer league posted the link to it on Facebook.
