Emergency services have been at the scene of a three-vehicle crash this morning (May 4). Police have closed off a road and are asking motorists to seek alternative routes. The incident happened at Yallands Hill in Monkton Heathfield, outside the Merry Monk Pub at around 9.35am.
We were first alerted to the incident after the Taunton Neighbourhood Team shared a post on Facebook this morning. It said: "Emergency services are currently at Yallands Hill in Monkton Heathfield dealing with a 3 vehicle RTC. The exact location is right outside the Merry Monk Pub. The road is completely blocked at this time so please use the main ring road route the A38."
We approached Avon and Somerset Police for more information, who confirmed the road remains closed. Our travel and traffic monitoring system Inrix also reported that the road is blocked due to an oil spillage.
