A teenager was killed in a crash late Saturday night in Spencer County, according to the Taylorsville Fire Department.
It happened around 11:35 p.m. when emergency responders were dispatched to the three-mile marker on Lilly Pike for a single-vehicle injury accident.
Lilly Pike is just off of Mount Washington Road about halfway between Taylorsville and Mount Washington.
Spencer County High School identified the 18-year-old student as Nathan Wimsatt.
According to the Kentucky State Police, when responders got to the scene they found that Wimsatt had been ejected from the vehicle.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Wimsatt was part of the school’s soccer and tennis teams.
Wimsatt’s passenger was taken to the hospital after initially refusing treatment. His condition has not been reported at this time.
Several agencies responded to the crash, and the KSP are currently handling an investigation into the crash.
Grief counselors will be on hand Monday at Spencer County High School to help anyone who needs support processing the loss.
