A 28-year-old Sacramento man arrested in connection with a deadly crash on Highway 160, a carjacking and a police pursuit has been identified and is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, the California Highway Patrol said on Friday.
Five passengers were killed when the 2007 Cadillac Escalade that Cameron Garcia was driving veered off Highway 160 and crashed into a tree south of the Freeport Bridge between Clarksburg and Freeport on Thursday evening, CHP said.
Four of the five passengers were identified by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office as:
Family members on Saturday identified a third woman onboard who died, 17-year-old Aahliya Mariah Garcia.

All the passengers were ejected from the car, CHP said.
After the initial crash, Garcia carjacked a passerby who was driving a black Volkswagen Passat and then fled the scene, CHP said.
KCRA 3 spoke to a witness in Elk Grove who said that they witnessed the initial crash on Highway 160, and when they stopped to provide help the suspect carjacked them.
CHP said deputies with the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office spotted the suspected carjacker and tried chasing after the vehicle.
The sheriff’s office said it started a chase with the driver around the 8600 block of Highway 160 — about 13 miles from the crash site — by the Courtland Bridge.
During the pursuit, the suspect crashed into another vehicle, though there were no injuries, CHP said on Friday.
The chase ended in Elk Grove by Elk Grove Boulevard and Fire Poppy Drive near the Valley Hi Golf Course. After the driver fleeing law enforcement crashed, both CHP and the sheriff’s office said the driver, a man, ditched the vehicle and ran to the golf course before he was taken into custody.
Garcia faces charges that include gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, carjacking, driving under the influence of alcohol resulting in injury or death, vehicle theft and hit-and-run causing injuries or death.
Elk Grove police are expected to add additional charges, CHP said.
