A serious crash closed the A5 in Shropshire for several hours in both directions on Sunday morning.
A West Mercia police-led incident shut the route both ways between the A495 and the A483 in Oswestry.
Contractors closed the route at around 6am on Sunday and it remained closed several hours later. It reopened at about 11.15am but motorists were still advised of delays.
A spokesman for West Mercia Police said: “Road traffic accident midway on A5 between Mile End Roundabout and Whittington Roundabout.”
