A toddler was ejected during a crash Tuesday night.
According to Ocala police, officers were called to the intersection of U.S. 441 and NW 35th Street around 8:30 p.m.
Police say a 35-year-old woman driving an Acura ILX ran a red light and T-boned a Toyota Scion driven by a 24-year-old woman, who had her 3-year-old as a passenger.
Officials say the toddler was ejected from the vehicle. She was not restrained in her car seat. She was taken to the hospital and is expected to recover.
“The Ocala Police Department urges everyone to pay attention while driving and to stop at red lights. If you are driving with small children, make sure you have them secured in a proper child safety seat. Always be aware of your surroundings and follow all traffic laws,” police said in a statement.
