Pickup swerves, avoiding stopped vehicle, t-bones another near Carthage

JASPER COUNTY, Mo. — About 4:30 p.m. Saturday, April 29, 2023 reports of a two vehicle crash at CR170 and Fir Road/State Hwy HH alerted Jasper County E-911.
Carthage Fire Dept, Jasper County Sheriff’s Deputies and Mercy Ambulance responded. Missouri State Highway Patrol were notified.
On scene we learn from Cpl M. Cook of Troop D one driver was transported to Mercy Carthage.
The injured driver, Jason Jones, 46, of Carthage was operating a 1990 Chevy 1500 pickup. He suffered moderate injuries and was wearing his seat belt.
Jones left Hwy HH and t-boned a 2007 Chevy Avalanche driven by John Kilmer, 40, of Carthage. He was wearing his seat belt and was not injured.

Schrader’s Towing removed both vehicles and debris from the crash scene. Both are considered a total loss.
