Roads in the Auburn area are now open after a deadly accident on Tuesday evening.
The Auburn Police Department said southbound Highway 49 was closed from Palm to Elm avenues. Around 8:20 p.m., a pedestrian trying to cross the road was hit by a car.
The pedestrian was not using the crosswalk to cross the street, police said.
Police said the man died at the scene. The driver of the car stayed and is cooperating with officers.
The driver did not seem impaired, police said.
