These nutrients are extremely useful in performing several important bodily functions even though they are required in micrograms.

Papaya contains antioxidants which protect the heart from several risks. Papaya has papain and chymopapain which help in digestion and also help with inflammatory conditions like arthritis and asthma.

Papaya is also loaded with vitamin C which is a booster for the immunity system.

Lycopene, a natural pigment present in papaya, protects from prostate cancer.

There are several ways one can eat a ripe papaya.

You need to peel off the skin of the papaya and de-seed it properly. If you notice milky appearance on the pulp of the fruit, wash it off and then eat it.
