LEANDER, Texas — The Leander Police Department responded to a fatal crash on US 183, just north of Bryson Ridge Trail on Saturday afternoon.
The department tweeted about the incident around 2:42 p.m. stating the northbound lanes of US 183 would be closed as police investigate.
Later in the day, the Leander Police Department's Facebook posted a media release releasing more details. The accident was revealed to be a hit-and-run collision between a motorcyclist and a blue Kia.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead on the scene
Witnesses were able to provide information to lead the Leander Police Department to a suspect. The suspect was identified as a 29-year-old white male named Robert Corral. Corral was apprehended for Leaving the Scene of a Fatal Collision and transported to the Williamson County Jail.
This is the main information the Leander Police Department has released due to the investigation being ongoing.
This incident happened just hours after a pedestrian was struck and killed by a train.
