One person dead after Niskayuna car crash – Times Union

One person is dead following a motor vehicle crash that occurred on Troy-Schenectady Road Saturday afternoon, the Niskayuna Police Department said. 
NISKAYUNA — Authorities are investigating a motor vehicle crash that occurred on Troy-Schenectady Road Saturday afternoon, leaving one driver dead.
At approximately 3:35 p.m. on Saturday, the Niskayuna Police Department received a call regarding a personal injury automobile crash involving two vehicles near Algonquin Road, the department said. Niskayuna fire crews and a Mohawk Ambulance responded to the scene, where the operator of one of the vehicles succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced dead.
All occupants of the second vehicle were transported to Albany Medical Center for their injuries. It is unclear how many people were in the car and what the status of their injuries are. 
The Schenectady County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the scene to assist Niskayuna police with crash reconstruction.
No information is currently available regarding the cause of the crash, which is currently under investigation. Any witnesses to the incident who have not spoken to the police are encouraged to contact Detective Paul Daly at (518) 386-4582.
