Both the eastbound and westbound lanes of Interstate 94 near Beadle Lake Road were shut down for several hours Wednesday following a crash involving multiple semitrucks.
The crash involving three semis was reported just before 4:30 a.m. Wednesday on eastbound I-94 at exit 100, according to the Michigan Department of Transportation.
Eastbound and westbound I-94 were subsequently shut down for several hours as a result, with the westbound lanes reopening just before 9 a.m. and the eastbound lanes reopening shortly after 1 p.m.
Harper Creek Community Schools canceled classes Wednesday due to the crash and subsequent road closures.
“Injuries were minor, however, there is quite a cleanup that needs to occur,” the Emmett Township Department of Public Safety wrote in a news release Wednesday.
The crash remains under investigation.
The Emmett Township Department of Public Safety was assisted on scene by the Michigan State Police, Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, Battle Creek Police Department, and Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi Tribal Police.
