ORIGINAL REPORTING:
Multiple people were hurt in a rollover accident involving a school bus on the I-290 in Amherst.
The accident happened on the I-290 eastbound between Harlem Road and Main Street just before 8:00 a.m. on Friday.
Amherst Police say that all occupants of the bus were treated at the scene and then transported to local hospitals. They say the injuries appear non-life threatening. One adult, not the driver of the bus, was taken to ECMC in serious condition.
It’s not known how many people were on the bus at the time of the accident or their ages.
Police are requesting motorists to avoid that area of the I-290 EB near Sheridan and Harlem.
They’re also asking anyone who may have witnessed the accident, or have video, to contact the Amherst Police Accident Investigation Unit at: 716-689-1355.
