A multi-vehicle crash involving a semi-trailer caused major traffic delays early Monday morning on Interstate 40 in Oklahoma City.

The crash happened shortly after 6:30 a.m. on eastbound I-40 between Anderson and Westminster roads. The collision has blocked the eastbound lanes, with Sky 5 showing a major traffic backup in the area.
Authorities shut down the interstate for several hours, diverting traffic at Douglas Boulevard. Oklahoma Department of Transportation officials said the interstate has since reopened.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol officials told KOCO 5 that a tractor-trailer was traveling west on I-40 when it swerved left to avoid stopped traffic when it crashed through a concrete barrier wall and flipped over in the eastbound lanes. A person driving a pickup truck then crashed into the semi-trailer.
