Around 8:40 p.m. Tuesday night, Port St. Lucie Police Department responded to a traffic accident on Port. St. Lucie Boulevard and Morningside Boulevard.
While investigating, the officers learned a green Ford Explorer traveling west on Port St. Lucie Boulevard was attempting to turn left onto Morningside Boulevard when a white Suzuki sport bike traveling east on Port St. Lucie Boulevard collided with the Ford Explorer in the intersection.
This resulted in one fatality.
There were two occupants on the motorcycle and two occupants inside the Ford Explorer.
The adult male driver of the motorcycle was airlifted to the hospital and later pronounced deceased. The adult female on the motorcycle was also airlifted to the hospital in critical condition.
The adult male driver of the Ford Explorer was not injured. However, the adult female passenger was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
Right now, the investigation is active and ongoing. Traffic Homicide Investigator Appelbaum is asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has video surveillance of the incident to please call 772-871-5001.
