Man facing murder charge after a shooting, crash that downed power lines – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

A man is facing a murder charge after police say a car crash investigation revealed evidence of a shooting.
One driver, 29-year-old Chapeera Lee, died on the scene and 32-year-old Cortez Nute was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries where he was treated and released, according to the Dallas police.
Nute is being charged with murder, but police have not revealed any further information about what may have led to the shooting.
The crash involved two cars and occurred at Inwood Road and Fairfax Avenue at approximately 10:30 p.m., no other injuries were reported.
A witness saw the crash and a body being pulled from the crash.
The Dallas Police Traffic Unit conducted an investigation and based on physical evidence detered the incident was a shooting and the Homicide Unit took over the investigation.
