Officials say a Jeep crossed the center line, colliding with a GMC towing a trailer.
The York County Sheriff’s Office says a Limerick man has died as the result of a head-on collision in North Waterboro Friday morning.
At around 10:30 a.m., deputies, Waterboro firefighters and Maine State Police were called to 1068 Sokokis Trail in North Waterboro, where they found 35-year-old Joshua Gochie dead.
Investigators determined that Gochie was driving a Jeep southbound when he crossed the center line and hit a GMC pickup truck driven by a 28-year-old Limerick man heading in the opposite direction. The GMC was towing a trailer carrying an antique tractor at the time.
The other driver was brought to a nearby hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Officials have not provided details as to why Gochie’s Jeep crossed the center line in the first place, but the crash remains under investigation.
