MOUNTAIN HOME, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT)
Idaho State Police is investigating a two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 6:39 a.m. on Friday, October 6, 2023, eastbound I84 at milepost 110.8, near Mountain Home.
According to a press release, A 40-year-old male from Hartford, CT was traveling westbound on I84 in a 2020 Freightliner semi pulling a single trailer. A 35-year-old male from Hurricane, UT was traveling eastbound on I84 in a 2015 Peterbilt semi pulling a single trailer.
The driver of the Freightliner crossed the median and collided with the Peterbilt head-on in the right lane. Both drivers succumbed to their injuries at the scene of the crash. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts. Lanes of travel were blocked for approximately 12 hours.
Idaho State Police are still investigating the accident.

Mountain Home Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — According to the Idaho Transportation website the fatality accident was reported at 7:40 Friday morning.
As of noon on Friday, all eastbound lanes were still blocked at exit 99 and ISP reports that detours are in place, and they expect I-84 to remain closed overnight while an investigation and clean-up continues.
Plan for delays if you are traveling eastbound from Boise to the Magic Valley.
It’s not known how the accident happened and how many people were involved at this time.
