Highway Patrol investigating fatal crash in Mandan Friday – KFYR

MANDAN, N.D. (KFYR) – The North Dakota Highway Patrol has released the names of those involved in the fatal crash on Memorial Highway in Mandan Friday around 4 p.m.
The Patrol says the crash left 37-year-old driver Jesse Taylor, from Mandan, dead and 56-year-old Tamara Giese, also from Mandan, with serious injuries.
North Dakota Highway Patrol Sergeant Brian Mehlhoff confirmed to Your News Leader next of kin for both drivers have been made aware of the situation.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol says Taylor was traveling east on the highway just east of 32nd Ave SE when he veered into westbound traffic.
The Patrol says Taylor’s car struck a pickup truck driven by Giese going in the opposite direction head-on.
Officers say both vehicles came to rest in the roadway blocking all westbound traffic.
They say Taylor was taken to Sanford Health where he was pronounced dead.
They say Giese was taken to St. Alexius for serious injuries.
The crash is still under investigation.
