TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – A vehicle traveling on Douglas Rd. near the University of Toledo campus apparently lost control and ended up striking a campus police vehicle head on early Friday morning.
The driver, 60-year-old Gregory Imber, died in the crash. The officer in the police cruiser was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Douglas Rd. was closed between University Hills Blvd. and Oakwood Ave.
Authorities believe Imber hit a spot of high water left from the night’s storm, lost control, crossed the center line and struck the police cruiser.
