VICTORIA, Texas – Two people died in a fatal car crash Saturday night. The crash occurred at 7:33 p.m. on FM 236 FM 1685, 5 miles west of Victoria. Sergeant Ruben San Miguel with the Texas Department of Public Safety confirmed the fatalities.
62-year-old Teresa Rae Redden from Victoria was declared deceased at Citizens Medical Center at 9:16 p.m. by Justice of the Peace J. Miller.
A 9-year-old girl was declared deceased at the scene at 7:43 p.m. by Justice of the Peace J. Miller.
Redden was driving a 2016 Toyota Rav4 traveling west on FM 1685 approaching a stop intersection at FM 1685 and FM 236. A 2003 GMC Sierra, driven by Ismael Delgado, a 29-year-old from Victoria, was traveling North on FM 236.
Redden failed to yield the right of way to Delgado and caused his car to strike her car in the driver’s side. Her car went into a left side skid and overturned coming to rest on its left side. Delgado’s car came to rest in the barrow ditch facing northwest. The 9-year-old was a passenger in the backseat of Redden’s car.
The investigation into this fatal crash is ongoing.
