Eastbound I-94 south of Battle Creek closed around 10 a.m. Thursday morning due to a crash, according to MDOT.
The crash happened near M-66 when a car weaved for unknown reasons and sideswiped a semi truck that had been merging onto eastbound I-94, according to Michigan State Police.
This collision caused a chain reaction that brought about more crashes, including a rear-end crash between a semi truck and another car, troopers said.
The driver of the small car had to be cut out of their vehicle, but is expected to recover. No other injuries were reported, according to state police.

As of Thursday, alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors, troopers said.
The highway was closed for several hours because of the crash, but it reopened around 11:45 a.m.
Exit 98 was also closed due to the crash.
