Vinton, LA (KPLC) – A driver’s body has been identified after being recovered from a canal in Vinton when their car crashed into the water.
It happened near the La. 108 westbound ramp on I-10. Vinton Police Chief Scott Spell said a silver 2011 Kia Sedan was pulled from the canal.
At approximately 12:50 p.m., the body of Sandra Bent, 58, of Baytown, Tx was found by a fisherman south of the crash site, according to Vinton Police.
The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office Marine Unit and Forensic Investigation Unit assisted in the search.
The investigation is ongoing.
