A 24-year-old man was killed when the speeding car he was driving veered off Interstate 10 and crashed into a concrete pillar late Sunday night in West El Paso, police officials said.
Ruben Garfio, of Chaparral, died at the scene of the crash at 11:49 p.m. on I-10 East at Thorn Avenue, police said.

Garfio was driving a 2014 Infiniti Q50S eastbound at a high speed when he went off the road and crashed into the pillar, police said.
Investigators with the Special Traffic Investigations Unit are waiting on test results to determine if alcohol was a factor in the fatal crash.
