(Council Bluffs) — Council Bluffs authorities have released the name of the driver involved in an accident that killed a pedestrian early Sunday morning.
Council Bluffs Police say 47-year-old Angela H. Thurman of Pacific Junction was driving a vehicle that struck and killed a 74-year-old male near the intersection of Poplar Drive and Birch Street in Council Bluffs. Authorities say the male was near a vehicle on the street when he was struck by the passing vehicle around 3:20 a.m.
Police say the investigation is still ongoing and charges against Thurman are pending.

(Council Bluffs) — The Council Bluffs Police Department reports a fatality crash near the intersection of Poplar Drive and Birch Street at approximately 3:21 AM on Sunday morning.
According to the report, a 74-year-old male was near a vehicle on the street and was struck by a passing vehicle. The man was declared deceased at the scene.
The female driver was uninjured. The incident is in the early stages of the investigation and names are being withheld at this time.
