101 Freeway reopens after fatal crash – NBC Southern California

A man was fatally struck by a hit-and-run vehicle Friday on the 101 Freeway.
Officers were sent to the southbound freeway near Vermont Avenue about 4:45 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol and the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The southbound freeway was closed until about 10:30 a.m. while an investigation was conducted, the CHP reported.
The area is near the Vermont Avenue on- and off-ramps.
Information was not immediately available on the identity of the man, who was in his 20s, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner, which reported that the man died at the scene.
