KENT, Wash. – Police are investigating a deadly two-car crash that heppened in Kent Monday evening.
According to the Kent Police Department (KPD), at around 6:46 p.m., officers and firefighters were dispatched to a serious crash on Canyon Dr. and Weiland St.
Witnesses told police they saw a gold sedan crash into a blue minivan, and while the sedan pulled over into a wooded area, the minivan was left in the roadway – blocking traffic.
First responders arrived within minutes, and found two victims inside the sedan. One required immediate medical attention with life-threatening injuries. However, despite providing medical aid, the 22-year-old man from Kent died.
Multiple teen suspects were hospitalized after a carjacking, chase and crash in Black Diamond on Monday night.
The other victim in the sedan and the lone driver of the minivan were both taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Initial information gathered in the investigation suggest that the sedan was exceeding the speed limit, which was a contributing factor in the crash.
Anyone who witnessed the crash or has any information to share is asked to contact the KPD Tip Line at 253-856-5808, ir enauk KPDTipLine@kentwa.gov.
