A teacher on her way to work was injured and two others were arrested after a crash Tuesday morning involving a stolen vehicle in Lynn, Massachusetts, police said.
At about 7:13 a.m., Lynn officers saw a stolen motor vehicle that was also suspected to be involved in a recent carjacking, police said.
Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver fled and, seconds later, collided with another vehicle at the intersection of Chestnut and Essex streets, police said. Surveillance video shows the two suspects fleeing on foot and Lynn police officers running after them.
“I didn’t hear the crash, but I saw them all going by my window,” said witness Carmella Valentine.
The crash left a white Honda CRV on its roof on Chestnut Street, and a second SUV, a black Nissan Rogue, with heavy front-end damage in the front lot of Tony Tipico restaurant.

“I heard the crash, it woke me up. The cops were running after the guy in the black car. They were running the side street over there to the school yard. One car was upside down, all smashed in, in the front. The black car was all smashed in, in the front,” said witness Virginia Mayo.
The driver of the Honda was taken to a local hospital with injuries, police said. The woman’s brother identified her as Amber Fournier, 40, a teacher at Lynn Public Schools who was on her way to work at the time of the crash.
“Looked like her leg might have been broken. I don’t know. It was all bruised and swollen, but she was talking to people,” said witness George Huggins.

The juvenile was charged with receiving a stolen motor vehicle, failure to stop for police, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, speeding, marked lanes violation, failure to stop/ yield, leaving the scene of personal injury, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
