One person is dead after a Monday morning crash in Volusia County.

Florida Highway Patrol confirmed that 20-year-old Liliana Escobedo was killed after the three-car accident at U.S. 17 and Prevatt Road in Seville at around 8 a.m.
Family members of Escobedo were on scene not long after the accident.
“She will always be remembered, and she will hold a special place in all of our hearts for the amazing person she was,” said Kassandra Martinez, one family member.
Officials are still investigating the circumstances of the crash but say it involved three vehicles.
FHP said Escobedo failed to negotiate a curve. When she tried to get back into her lane, she and a car headed in the opposite direction collided. The road was closed for about four hours while traffic homicide investigators pieced together what happened.
Escobedo’s family said she had just left her one-year-old son in daycare. He’s probably too young to remember his mom or understand what happens, but Escobedo’s family will make sure her name lives on.
“As a family, we will make sure to always have that legacy of her,” Martinez said. “So, he’s gonna grow up to know what an amazing mother he had.”
As for the other victims in the crash, Florida Highway Patrol says one person was transported to Halifax Medical Center for care. The third person was uninjured.
