1 dead, 7 injured in wrong-way crash on I-75 S, police say – Atlanta News First

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – One person is dead and seven more are injured after a multiple-vehicle crash on I-75 S Sunday morning, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation.
All lanes were blocked off before Hudson Bridge Road for hours. The Stockbridge Police Department said the crash was caused by a driver, identified as 23-year-old Alyssa Johnson, traveling northbound in the southbound lanes near 5:20 a.m.
Police believe Johnson’s car hit a GMC Yukon, kickstarting a chain-reaction crash involving a third car and two tractor-trailers. Johnson’s car burst into flames and she was found dead on scene, police said.
The Yukon’s seven passengers were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
