FISHERS, Ind. — One person died and two others were hospitalized following a car Tuesday night in Hamilton County.
The Fishers Police Department tweeted around 7:45 p.m. that officers were working a serious crash near the intersection of E. 116th Street and Olio Road.
A portion of the roadway in the area was shut down as crash investigators and paramedics responded to the scene.
The crash involved a 2009 Toyota and a 2011 Toyota, police said.
FPD later tweeted that there were three victims involved in the crash and that one of them was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police identified the deceased as 38-year-old Adam Ellison of Anderson, Indiana. He was a passenger in the 2009 Toyota. The drivers of both vehicles were taken to an area hospital with serious injuries, police said.
Based on information from the scene and eyewitness accounts, police said it appeared the 2011 Toyota was heading northbound on Olio Road and the 2009 Toyota was southbound.
Police said the road was cleared as of 11:10 p.m. The crash remains under investigation.
